Water Worker I

South Montebello Irrigation District is currently accepting resumes for the position of Water Worker I.

The position will require a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties involved in operating the District’s water production and distribution facilities.

The following duties represent the principal job duties; however, they are not all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned:

• Meter reading, exercising valves, excavating utilities, maintains reservoir, and wells sites.

• Install, repair & replace mains, water lines, services, meters, pumping equipment, fire hydrants, and valves.

• Experience in operating a Backhoe is highly desirable.

• Ability to identify tools, equipment, and material needs for each assigned project.

• Performs work in emergency situations and will be required to be on call. MUST BE ABLE TO RESPOND TO DISTRICT WITHIN 45 MINUTES.

• Possession and proof of a driving record free of multiple serious traffic violations or accidents for (2) consecutive years is required.

Water Worker I
Candidate must possess a State of California Water Resources Distribution Operator Grade 1 & Treatment Operator Grade 1 Certifications.

Salary Starting: $54,080 Annually
