waterTALENT is searching for a triple certified Water & Wastewater Circuit Rider. This position is classified as temporary/contract with an as-needed and anticipated duration of 3-6+ months. This position involves driving across various water & wastewater facilities across the California Central Coast region. A truck will be provided to carry out the below scope of services.

Summary
The Water & Wastewater Circuit Rider is responsible for the day-to-day operations of general duties related to the operation of water & wastewater treatment plants scattered throughout the Central Coast.

Distinguishing Characteristics:
This position involves driving from worksite to worksite, servicing various small water & wastewater facilities. A truck will be provided to get from site to site.

Duties & Responsibilities
The listed examples include but are not limited to the duties performed. Duties can vary from time to time and are at the discretion of the Operations Manager and Operations System Supervisor:

  • Daily routine inspection of wastewater treatment plants and/or collection systems
  • Checks of meters, gauges, pumps, and control panels to verify correct operation equipment and records information
  • Performs lab duties and sampling for wastewater facilities which include: BOD’s, total suspended solids, pH, nitrates, chlorine residual, fecal coliform, bacti’s, temperature, dissolved oxygen, etc.
  • Monitors and repairs plant equipment including cleaning and servicing of plant equipment as scheduled
  • Records daily flows
  • Sludge depth, wasting, disposal and sampling
  • Inspect lift stations and collection systems
  • Clean bar screens
  • Performs housekeeping and landscaping duties as needed
  • Completes required reporting and log books

  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives
  • PLC’s
  • Proper use of laboratory equipment and practices
  • Understanding of maintenance practices
  • Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical principles
  • Knowledge of computer operations and software programs

Licenses or Certificates

  • Possession of a valid CA driver’s license
  • SWRCB CA Water Treatment Operator T1
  • SWRCB CA Water Distribution Operator D1
  • SWRCB CA Wastewater Treatment Operator Grade II

Preferred/Desired:

  • SWRCB CA Wastewater Treatment Operator Grade III
