The Water Division provides potable drinking water to over 80,000 residents in city limits and surrounding areas. We own and operate two conventional water treatment plants (20 MGD each) and one 3 MGD direct filtration plant that treat water from the State Water Project and from City owned reservoirs. Our state-of-the-art facilities include the Edward I. Barwick Jamieson Canyon Water Treatment Plant with pre- and intermediate-ozone treatment basins, filtration, washwater clarifier facilities, and outstanding operations, maintenance and ELAP certified laboratory. A Water Treatment Facility Operator performs operates and maintains water treatment plant equipment and facilities during an assigned shift and performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A typical way of gaining the knowledge and skills required for this classification is:

Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school and completion of necessary coursework to obtain a California Water Treatment Plant Operator's Grade III certification.

Experience:Two years of experience performing water treatment functions as a Grade II operator in a plant of similar size and complexity as City of Napa facilities.

Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Class "C" California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record. Possession of a valid California Water Treatment Plant Operator's Grade III Certificate (T3). Must maintain valid certification as a condition of continued employment.

Salary: $84,987 to $102,678 Annually
