Under general direction, coordinates all internal and external communications efforts for the Water Resources Division including the development and production of communications about the Division and its programs and services; researches, gathers, and interprets data; conducts and participates in a variety of community outreach activities and public education programs; develops appropriate communications methods and materials; and performs other duties as assigned. Any combination of experience, education, and training that would provide the best qualified candidates. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Experience: Two years of progressively responsible administrative program experience with emphasis on public speaking, public relations and/or public community outreach functions, including conducting research, report writing, and extensive public contact. Public agency experience, particularly related to water resources communication support, is highly desirable.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public relations, marketing, business administration, public administration, journalism, English, communications, or a related field.
License: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record as determined by the City.
Other Requirements: Willingness and ability to work such hours as are necessary to accomplish the job requirements; and attend meetings, events, workshops, and seminars during work and non-work hours. Salary:
