The Water Quality Technician III is a journey-level position that will require the expertise in judgment and skills to assist in development of maintenance plans and procedures for potable water reuse demonstration and pilot plants; conduct potable water reuse water quality sampling, analyses, and data reporting to support applied research studies; perform predictive maintenance to determine equipment wear and anticipate future equipment and/or maintenance needs to enhance process reliability; plan and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, including receiving bulk chemical deliveries and vendor coordination; complete complex preventive and corrective maintenance activities on potable water reuse treatment equipment and processes; plan, procure, install, and test new equipment to support potable reuse applied research platforms; provide emergency response, including on-call support during off-work hours, to ensure continuous operation of potable water reuse demonstration and pilot plants.

You will service the Advance Purification Center Demonstration Facility located at the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant in Carson, Calif., in safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The Water Quality Technician III will maintain research facilities and equipment in support of applied research studies for the Regional Recycled Water Program (RRWP). You will also provide emergency response to ensure continuous operation of potable water reuse demonstration and pilot plants, including on-call support during off-work hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate and six years of relevant experience; or two years' experience as a MWD Water Quality Technician II.

Relevant Experience is defined as: experience in the operation and maintenance of drinking water, wastewater, and potable water reuse treatment processes.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

Salary: $38.75 to $51.01 Hourly
