The Water Quality Supervisor supervises, plans and coordinates the operations and activities of pretreatment, storm water permitting and cross-connection control within the Water Quality Section - Utilities Division; develops, directs and administers procedures for assisting in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements pertaining to monitoring, testing, regulating, permitting and reporting; coordinates assigned activities with staff consultants, businesses, and outside agencies, and provides highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Water Quality Manager.
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities is:
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in chemistry, biology, or environmental management or other related sciences.
Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in a storm water management program, an industrial pretreatment process, facilities management of areas related to environmental compliance, hazardous materials management, municipal storm water, or a pretreatment program with at least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
License or Certificate: Must obtain a California Water Environmental (CWEA) Industrial Waste Inspection Grade III certificate as a condition of passing probation, and maintain such certification as a condition of continued employment.
Possession of a California Water Environment (CWEA) Industrial Waste Inspection Grade II certificate desirable.
Must possess a valid California Class C Driver's License and have a satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
Salary: $90,133 to $109,555 Annually
