Summary
The City of Benicia (29,000 residents) is actively recruiting a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Superintendent. The WTP Superintendent is a T4 or T5 licensed operator responsible for the City's water supply and serves as the Chief Operator. The City obtains its water from three sources and provides treatment at a 24 hour per day staffed conventional WTP. Under the general direction of the Deputy Public Works Director – Utilities Manager, the incumbent will provide leadership and supervision to ten operators, maintenance technologists, and staff.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to acquire the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:
Four years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation and maintenance of a Water Treatment Plant, including at least two years performing in a supervisory capacity.

Education:
Equivalent to completion of a 12th grade education. Two years of college level education with courses in water, wastewater, or related field is highly desirable.

Must possess and maintain an appropriate valid California Driver's License issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Possession of a minimum Grade IV Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate with the State of California.

Salary: $110,236 to $133,992 Annually
