The Utilities Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management of the operation and maintenance of the City’s wastewater collection and water distribution system, as well as the operation and maintenance of two water treatment facilities, a wastewater treatment facility and a reclaimed water treatments facility. Under the direction of the Public Works and Utilities Director, the Utilities Operation Manager is responsible for budget development and tracking, short and long-range capital improvement project planning and ensuring the City is compliant with local, state and federal water, wastewater and reclaimed water treatment regulations. Work also involves planning, controlling, supervising and evaluating the daily operations for the Division.
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses and Certifications
Graduation from a four-year college or university with major work in civil engineering or water and sewer utility maintenance operations, environmental science, business management, public administration, or related field
Seven or more years of progressive technical, supervisory, utility operations planning, and administrative experience
Seven or more years of supervisory experience of professional, technical and administrative staff
Valid driver’s license and maintenance of a safe driving record required to operate City vehicles
Master’s Degree in civil or environmental engineering, business management, public administration, or related field LEED, ENVISIONTM or other sustainability certification related to the industry
Certified Water Professional in the State of Colorado or equivalent certification demonstrating knowledge of Utility Operations
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
Salary: $123,461 to $154,327 Annually
