Solano Irrigation District is hiring two Superintendent positions - one for Municipal & Industrial Operations and the other for Maintenance Operations. $104,811 - $127,379 annually.
Under general direction of the Water & Power Operations Manager, the position is responsible for planning, organizing, assigning, directing, supervising and evaluating the work of subordinates for a program area within the Water & Power Operations Department. Assignments and potential emergency actions require incumbents to use independent judgment, initiative, and perform essential activities within established operational parameters. Must be available for after-hour emergencies and participate in the Supervisor Duty rotation.
The M&I Operations Superintendent oversees two Supervisors and their areas of responsibility: Water Treatment & Quality and M&I Operations. Manages and plans for the operations, maintenance, repair of the water treatment and municipal and industrial water distribution systems under control of the District, including potable and non-potable systems. Responsible for regulatory activities with the California State Water Resources Control Board, and partner agencies. Provides highly complex assistance to the Manager.
The Maintenance Operations Superintendent oversees three Supervisors and their areas of responsibility: Construction & Equipment Maintenance; Maintenance; and SCADA Instrumentation & Controls. Manages and plans for the operations, maintenance, repair, and construction of the District infrastructure and electrical and control systems and associated peripherals. Responsible for regulatory activities with the U.S. Government, the State of California, partner agencies, and other District divisions and departments. Provides highly complex assistance to the Manager.
Knowledge and experience demonstrating a highly organized, decisive, and innovative leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to excel at building and maintaining long-term trusting relationships with the District’s customers, partner agencies and staff.. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be 10 years of progressively responsible experience in performing the design, operations, maintenance, repair or construction for a water district of a variety of types and sizes of water distribution systems, water treatment facilities and pumping plants, 1 year of which is in a supervisory capacity. High school diploma or equivalent and valid California motor vehicle operator’s license with a satisfactory driving record to maintain insurability are required.
