The Senior I&E Technician will perform journeyman level responsibilities in both instrumentation and electrical work. Responsibilities include specifying parts and equipment required for installation or repair of instrumentation systems and electrical distribution equipment. Job duties will also include troubleshooting and repair of electrical motor controls, variable frequency drives, switchgear, installation of conduit and wiring and calibration of instrumentation equipment. The incumbent will conduct scheduled preventative maintenance of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems. Electrical system support on equipment at voltage levels up to 12KV. Support the Process Control System (PCS) Programmers including the maintenance of that system and its associated network equipment and I/O. Additional responsibilities include, developing control programming on SCADA systems utilizing PLCs and Wonderware, creating graphical display pages, and developing automated control for these SCADA systems. Preparing and maintaining reports, documenting work progress, projecting operational functionality of equipment and upgrades to equipment and systems. Reading, interpreting and generating diagrams and schematics to aid in troubleshooting or installation of instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/ Experience: High School Diploma, or General Equivalency Degree. Valid California driver’s license. Verifiable certification in instrumentation, electrical and/or process controls required. Six years of related journey level instrumentation and electrical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

SCHEDULE:
4/10, Monday’s off, based on the needs of the department. Will be required to work a standby shift rotation with the ability to be on site within 1 hour of call in. Depending on needs of department may be required to work extended shifts, weekends and Holidays.

Salary Range: $40.97 - $51.22 per hour
