THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate is well-organized, meeting critical deadlines and tracking projects across multiple departments. As a District representative, the Risk Management Supervisor should have strong oral and written communication skills. In addition, this person will interact regularly with staff at different levels within the District and should be able to adjust communication style and techniques accordingly. This position will often work independently and should be self-motivated to successfully meet the goals of the Risk and Safety department.
The ideal Risk Management Supervisor has extensive knowledge and experience of regulatory compliance and risk management. This person is familiar with current regulations affecting water, wastewater, and laboratory facilities, as well as liability and property insurance. The preferred candidate will also have experience in disaster preparedness and emergency response, vulnerability assessment techniques, and security protocols. Familiarity with regulations related to the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials is desired. REQUIREMENTS
A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities include: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental sciences, risk management, or a related field and 3 years of responsible regulatory compliance and/or risk management experience. At least one year in a lead or supervisory role is preferred. Experience in a water and/or wastewater utility is highly desired. SALARY:
