Real Estate Services Program
Professional and administrative work coordinating the activities associated with the District's land leasing program.
Job duties include:
- Serves as Project Manager for active District leases. Monitors the status of existing District leases by maintaining a database to ensure that leases are acted upon timely during renewal periods. Monitor, document, and ensure that lease payments are made timely. Monitors for updated insurance, licenses, permits, financial securities, reports, and other deliverables. Performs site visits and audits of properties, to ensure lessees continue to meet all lease terms and conditions. Work with Office of General Counsel and District Land Managers as needed regarding non-compliance issues. Prepare lease reports for FDEP, Director, Auditors, and other staff.
- Assist the Triennial Appraiser Selection process and contracts. Assists with preparation of Statements of Work and other documentation to process the annual appraiser and surveyor contracts. Prepare Invitation to Submit Offers for cattle grazing and apiary lease, a formal procurement process, ensuring all required State and District Real Estate, leasing, and procurement regulations and policies are met. Hold necessary site visits on District lands. Assists with other procurement and budgeting processes as needed by the Real Estate Services Program.
- Prepares, coordinates, and negotiates the development of new leases and lease amendments for the use of District owned land. Works with potential lessees, land owners, District Land Managers, Procurement, Risk Management, General Counsel, Government entities and others regarding risk management, agreement, and lease development. Leases include expenditure and income leases and security residence leases, as well as Inter-Governmental agency leases.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in real estate, business administration, public administration or related field and five years of progressively responsible experience in corporate, commercial or public sector real estate, property management or leasing practices.
A master's degree from an accredited college or university in real estate, business administration, public administration or related field can substitute for one year of the required experience.
A doctorate from an accredited college or university in real estate, business administration, public administration or related field can substitute for two years of the required experience.
Professional experience described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
