Clark Regional Wastewater District is seeking one (1) full-time individual to serve as a Pretreatment Specialist in support of the Industrial Pretreatment and Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) Programs. Work with industrial and commercial users to ensure compliance with wastewater and pretreatment regulations and permits and protect wastewater infrastructure, worker safety, and public and environmental health.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Locate, survey and investigate existing and potential new users. Initiate communication with businesses to obtain information for determining applicable requirements
- Perform and document inspections of a variety of commercial and industrial facilities, pretreatment systems and devices
- Plan and conduct sampling for industrial wastewater, collections system and wastewater treatment plants
- Respond to POTW operational issues, illicit discharge and spill complaints, initiate and conduct investigations as needed
- Review plans, specifications, and calculations for proposed pretreatment devices to determine compliance with applicable standards and regulations
- Responds to general inquiries and complaints from stakeholders and the public on codes, laws, rules, and regulations regarding pretreatment
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or equivalent technical training in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a closely related field
- Two (2) years of responsible work experience in environmental compliance in a municipal or industrial wastewater treatment and collections environment
Salary range: $5,721 to $7,479 per month
Starting salary: $5,721 to $6,541 per month DOQ
