Position Summary

Our next successful team member can look forward to...

  • Develop and prepare planning and program management documents and present information to other departments, external entities, and County Officials.

  • Interpret local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines and monitor legislative changes as they relate to assigned responsibilities.

  • Perform research, prepare special studies, write reports, collect and analyze various statistical and/or technical data.

  • Review and monitor various programs, projects and applications to ensure compliance with various codes, plans, contracts, agency policies and procedures, and rules and regulations.

  • Represent the County at public hearings or meetings and participates in committee or work group activities.

  • Coordinate planning efforts with federal, state, regional, and local agencies as appropriate to assigned projects and programs.

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and procedures for public works related planning projects.

  • Project Management skills including monitoring of progress, resolving issues, facilitating meetings, and establishing goals.

  • Ability to develop graphic and statistical presentations.

  • Work effectively and productively with others including strong customer service skills such as handling sensitive and difficult issues with tact and patience.

  • Carry out the directives of the section or division manager in an effective and timely manner.


Qualifications

Our next successful team member will have...

  • Bachelor's degree in planning or related field; and three years of related planning work OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license, or the ability to obtain the license within 30 days of employment, or otherwise meet the travel requirements of the position.


Preferred recruiting requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in local, county, or state planning and program management related work is desired.


Salary: $38.38 to $49.15 Hourly
