Summary
West County Wastewater (WCW) is seeking a dynamic, collaborative employee as their new Maintenance Manager. This position will provide leadership in the planning, organizing, managing, and directing of the Maintenance Division. This includes the maintenance and repair activities of the Water Quality and Resource Recovery Plant, lift stations, force main cathodic protection system and air relief valves, other WCW property, machinery, vehicles, control systems, equipment, and administrative buildings. The position coordinates and provides functional oversight of construction field crews during plant and lift station equipment and capital project upgrades and is responsible for using independent judgment to resolve the majority of daily maintenance or maintenance related operational problems.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifying Training & Experience
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education: Some college course work or recognized industry training in industrial technology, mechanical or instrumentation, wastewater treatment plant maintenance, or supervisory techniques. An A.A. degree from an accredited university or college which includes or is supplemented by course instruction in electrical, mechanical and plumbing fields would also meet the educational requirements.

Experience: Seven years of experience in the maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant or similar or related industries including at least three years in a supervisory position.

License or Certification: Possession of a Grade 3 Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Technologist, or Electrical/ Instrumentation Technologist certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association (or equivalent) must be obtained within 3 years of hire. Candidates with higher grade level or other relevant certifications will be given additional consideration for the position. Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License.

Salary: $127,712 to $157,378 Annually
