The Director of Finance and Administrative Services is an exempt executive management class. Under general direction, plans, organizes, directs, and implements financial strategies; plans, organizes, and manages the District's financial affairs, including but not limited to one or more areas of financial planning for capital improvement projects, budgeting, accounting, cash management, project accounting, payroll accounting, rate setting, and debt management. In addition, this position performs the function of District Recording Secretary and other related duties as assigned.
Training and Experience:
Training and experience substantially equivalent to seven years of increasingly responsible experience (including a minimum of two years' supervisory experience) in finance, accounting, customer service, human resources, and public relations. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, finance, human resources, or a related field. A Master's degree in Business Administration or related field and registration as a CPA in California is preferred.
Licenses, Certificates, Special Requirements:
A valid California driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the District's Vehicle Insurance Policy is required at the time of appointment. Failure to obtain or maintain such license(s) and status may be cause for disciplinary action. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical disability will be considered for accommodation on a case-by-case basis.
Possession and proof of an acceptable driving record, free of multiple and/or serious traffic violations and/or accidents for two (2) consecutive years.
Salary: $130,624 to $158,787 Annually
