Any combination of education and experience which would likely provide the necessary knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Education: The equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field obtained by the time of appointment.
Possession of an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certificate, (Junior and Assistant level), or valid Certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer (Associate level) issued by the California State Board of Registration is required.
Abbreviated Job Description:
Under general direction of the Engineering Manager, the Civil Engineer series performs a wide variety of technical field and office engineering work associated with the San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority (Authority) activities/programs and facilities. Manages and performs project design, project management, and construction management of capital improvement projects; leads project group, participates in selection of and manages consultants, reviews and approves projects for conformance with Authority standards, reviews projects for conformance to long range plans; performs system modeling; and related duties as required.
