The Indian Wells Valley Water District (Ridgecrest, CA) is seeking an Associate/Senior Engineer to perform a full range of professional engineering duties including planning, design, plan checking, inspection, regulatory compliance, and technical assistance to other staff.

The ideal candidate will have experience effectively managing multiple projects; ensuring quality of work; is team-oriented; has engineering design experience, specifically in water or wastewater projects; has exemplary customer service standards and can establish effective working relationships; has experience managing and administering public construction projects and contracts; and possesses excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with AutoCAD and GIS is a plus.

Ridgecrest is a high desert community located at the base of the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains with great open space and year-round outdoor activities. Work in a friendly small town with great schools and a low cost of living.

Qualifications
A combination of training, education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or related field and qualifying experience described below.

Associate Engineer: Three years of professional engineering experience, preferably in a public agency setting. An Engineer-in-Training certificate is required. Possession of a California Water Resources Control Board Distribution Operator 2 (D2) license or ability to obtain such within 12 months.

Senior Engineer: This is a professional position requiring five years of professional experience, preferably in a public agency setting. A valid license as a Professional Engineer in the State of California is required or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 12 months of hire.

Possession of a California Water Resources Control Board Distribution Operator 2 (D2) license or ability to obtain such within 12 months.

Salary and Benefits

Associate Engineer: $75,199 to $110,269
Senior Engineer: $91,492 to $119,438
