Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for Ventura Water activities, operations and services. This includes directing all water, wastewater, and water resource strategic planning; asset management, customer demand management, energy efficiency, and technology. This Manager is responsible for overall financial management of the Ventura Water Department, integrating all water resources. May act as the General Water Manager in their absence.

Position Qualifications A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in water or environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, ocean engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related field and five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in water and or wastewater management, infrastructure strategic planning, water resources management or federal, public or private utility management, including experience supervising professional-level positions. A Master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.
Certificates: The following certificates are desirable:
- Grade 3 or higher Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate issued by the California Water Resources Control Board
- Grade 3 or higher Water Treatment Operator certificate issued by the California Water Resources Control Board
- Grade3 or higher Water Distribution Operator certificate issued by the California Water Resources Control Board
- Grade 3 or higher Advanced Water Operator certificate issued by the American Water Works Association California-Nevada Section
License: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required.

Salary: $137,744.46 - $184,578.99 Annually
