Placer County Water Agency encompasses the entire, 1,500-square-mile boundary of Placer County, ranging from the rim of the Sacramento Valley on the west to the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe on the east. The Agency is headquartered in Auburn and carries out a broad range of responsibilities including water resource planning and management, retail and wholesale supply of irrigation water and drinking water, production of hydroelectric power and watershed stewardship across Placer County.

PCWA is seeking qualified candidates to perform professional and technical engineering work for water systems. Primary functions of this position are managing a broad range of projects through planning, design, construction and implementation and preparing capital improvement plans for public works. Projects include water treatment plants, equipment and processes, pipelines, canals, control systems and pumping facilities.

We are seeking candidates to fill positions at either level listed below:

ASSISTANT ENGINEER

$77,939 - $99,467 annually, DOQ, plus excellent benefits

Our ideal candidate for this highly desirable career opportunity will possess a Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or a related field and two years of professional civil or mechanical engineering experience with water systems and related operations. Possession of an Engineer-in-Training certificate in the State of California is required.

ASSOCIATE ENGINEER

$94,727 - $120,902 annually, DOQ, plus excellent benefits

Our ideal candidate for this highly desirable career opportunity will possess a Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or a related field and four years of professional civil or mechanical engineering experience with water systems and related operations. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California is required.
