SALARY: $85,008 – $113,916 salary annually + benefits

THE POSITION
Perform professional and technical civil engineering work in support of District and private development projects starting with simple projects and moving to more complex ones. Employees in this job class provide general engineering support and direction to a variety of public and private projects. Projects worked on may include civil works projects including: water and wastewater pipelines and treatment facilities, tanks, environmental mitigation and other related subjects. Assists District Engineer with implementation of various District programs including the implementation of District’s Capital Improvement Program. Other duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: plan, direct, participate and effectively complete assigned projects; administer consultant contracts for support services; review and evaluate development plans and calculations; assist with maintenance and updating of GIS and hydraulic models; and assist in planning, developing and implementing innovative operations programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Possession of Engineer in Training Certificate desirable

License
Must posses a valid California Class “C” driver’s license and have and maintain a satisfactory driving record and be insurable to operate District vehicles.

SALARY:
$85,008 – $113,916 annually
$7,084 - $9,493 per month
$40.87 – $54.77 per hour

An anticipated 3.25% Cost of Living (COLA) adjustment effective 07/01/2026.

HEALTH, DENTAL & VISION INSURANCE District pays 100% of premiums for employee and dependent

SICK LEAVE Accrue eight hours per month; cumulative accrual to a maximum of 180 working days

VACATION
1 to 5 years = 10 working days
5 to 10 years = 15 working days
10+ years = 20 working days
An employee shall be able to accrue no more than the number of vacations days they are entitled to earn in two years of employment

HOLIDAYS 12 paid holidays per year

SOCIAL SECURITY The District does not participate in Social Security

MEDICARE The District provides 1.45% matching Medicare contribution

RETIREMENT The District participates in the California Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS). New CalPERS members pay 8.25% contribution. The retirement formula is 2% @ 62, 3 year average final compensation.

SURVIVOR BENEFIT Employees are required to contribute $2.00 per month. The District contributes $3.20 per month on the employee’s behalf.

DEFERRED COMPENSATION Section 457 Deferred compensation plan is available. The District does not contribute on the employee’s behalf.

DIRECT DEPOSIT Payroll checks are automatically deposited into a checking or savings account.
