Description

CPAU is seeking a Resource Planner to join this group. Assignments will be based on the skills of the chosen applicant and department need, but experience and interest in electric supply portfolio management, water supply management, or rate design is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and collaborate with business partners and suppliers is also desirable.

Duties

Resource Planner is a classification used throughout the Resource Management Division of the Utilities Department. Resource Planners, under minimal supervision, do commodity price forecasting, supply resource planning and analysis, resource acquisition and portfolio management, and manage the Utilities' portfolio of supply and demand-side resources on a wide range of projects and serve in a project manager capacity as required. Resource Planners work with staff from other City departments and municipal utilities, the public, legislative and regulatory agencies, partner agencies, and consultants to provide direction and information on specific programs and projects.

Qualifications

For all: a bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, mathematics or related field or equivalent job related experience

A master's degree in engineering or other related field and/or registration as a professional engineer may be considered in lieu of 1 year of experience

Resource Planner

6 years of experience in utilities resource planning (engineering degree may substitute for 2 years of experience)

Associate Resource Planner

4 years of experience in utilities resource planning (engineering degree may substitute for 2 years of experience)

Assistant Resource Planner

2 years of experience in utilities resource planning (engineering degree may substitute for 2 years of experience)
